About the British Type 42/Sheffield Class:
The only time in history when two warships of the same class have fought each other was in the Falklands War when the United Kingdom and Argentina came to blows in 1982. The warships in question were from the British Type 42, or Sheffield Class. The Type 42 is a guided missile destroyer designed for the Royal Navy in the 1960s to provide fleet area air-defense. A total of fourteen destroyers were constructed in three batches, with the lengthened Batch Three vessels
